Our Heros
They fight for our country, our freedom they defend.
We say they are our heroes, on them we depend.
Our nations warriors, our peace they secure.
Their lives they proudly devoted, with much to endure.
We utter pledges of honor and glory.
In peace or war, what is their story?
Flying flags from every corner, rooftop, and steeple.
Sacrifices they made for their nation and its people.
Our government shuns them, our hearts misdirected.
They are our veterans, homeless and neglected.

I love the poem. Yes, we need to honor our military heroes. We owe our freedom to them. God bless them all.
