This blog has been moved to clkottke.wordpress.com
Please follow me there.

Well! I was going to post my article The Parabola but trying to get the formatting to work on blogspot, especially when using mathematical formatting is nearly impossible. Also, I have images of parabolas which I want to include and am having trouble getting things to "go" into my article where I want them too.

Anyway! I have it written and as soon as I can get it posted (and reviewed to make sure none of  it has ended up where it shouldn't be) I will be posting my first of two articles on The Parabola.

Sam's Fecal Flotation

I got a notice this morning that Sam (my collie) is due for a Fecal Flotation.

It being the end of the semester and I am crunched on time and money I decided I will just take one of his poo's to the lake and throw it in, if it floats then I don't need to worry about it.

Math flashcards

If you haven't tried www.quizlet.com and want an easy flashcard application to study, this is the one! You can use the flashcards or create a test with written, multiple choice, and/or True and False questions. Quizlet also has a couple of games using the study set if you like.

I have started numerous sets for math that include Algebra, Linear Algebra, Calculus 1,2, and 3, Thinking Mathematically, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry and Abstract Algebra. Most have yet to be started and some need editing still but the Algebra class flashcards are moving along quite well.

As I am moving along in my own studies I will be constantly adding and updating all of these. If you are looking for math flashcards try www.quizlet.com, it's FREE and if you are looking for my pre-made flashcards do a search for "clkottke". If you have any problems pulling up my sets let me know, I may have to change the settings on them.

I'm back after a long absence from my blog

I've been away for quite awhile. I have been finishing my BA in Mathematics and hopefully I will finish my student teaching and graduate next May 2014. Then I will have more time to work on my blog. My future hopes are that my blog will be based on mathematics, of course! Any suggestions on what you would like to see, please let me know. Looking forward to spending more time here.
